US-127, I-496 will see lane closures

Several road closures will begin within the next week as summer construction projects commence in the Lansing area. Single lane closures on I-496 and US-127 will begin on Saturday for maintenance of freeway lights. One lane will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the area. -

MSU and state officials said they are preparing for the worst as reports of swine flu cases continue to come in throughout the state. Michigan lab workers are expecting lab results Wednesday afternoon determining whether five people in Ingham County with symptoms similar to those of swine flu have been infected a county health official said. -

US-127 ramp to be demolished Friday

The ramp and bridge from southbound US-127 to eastbound I-96 will be demolished Friday to begin a project to rebuild the structure this summer.Work on the bridge will be done with one lane of traffic maintained at all times on the two-lane roadway. -

Paul OConnor bought his grandmas cutting board from a Michigan Department of Treasury auction Tuesday morning of the remnants of Flats Grille the business he used to own. The sentimental piece and his computer from the restaurants office were the only things the owner of the former eatery was able to keep of items sold in the auction. -
Cedar Village gatherings after NCAA Loss

A rowdy crowd gathered in Cedar Village after the MSU mens basketball team lost to North Carolina in the NCAA championship game. MSU was defeated 89-72 Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit. -

Auction to be held for Flats belongings

A public auction will be held at 10 a.m. today at Flats Grille 551 E. Grand River Ave. for assets within the restaurant. The restaurant closed Feb. 24 when it was seized by Michigan Department of Treasury due to a tax warrant issued by the department against the State Pizza Corp. the parent company of Flats. Officials have said Flats owed more than 8800 in unpaid taxes. -

SAF, Athletics hold Final Four ticket lottery

The Student Alumni Foundation and MSU athletics department allotted 79 tickets to the Final Four in Detroit to members of the Izzone student section on Wednesday through a lottery.
